Biographie
Nadia Lauro, scénographe, développe son travail dans divers contextes (espaces scéniques, architecture du paysage, musées). Elle conçoit des dispositifs scénographiques, des environnements, des installations visuelles. Ses espaces au fort pouvoir dramaturgique génèrent des manières de voir et d’être ensemble inédites.
Elle collabore avec les chorégraphes et performeurs Vera Mantero, Benoît Lachambre, Frans Poesltra, Martin Belanger, Barbara Kraus, Emmanuelle Huynh, Fanny de Chaillé, Alain buffard, Antonija Livingstone, Latifa Laabissi , Jonathan Capdevielle , Laéticia Dosh Antonia Baehr, Jule Flierl, Yasmine Hugonnet, Nosfell, Zeena Parkins, Emilie Rousset, Louise Hémon, Kate McIntosh, Marion Siéfert et Jennifer Lacey, avec laquelle elle co-signe de nombreux projets. Leur collaboration fait l’objet d’une publication « Jennifer Lacey & Nadia Lauro, dispositifs chorégraphiques» par Alexandra Baudelot publiée aux Presses du Réel.
Elle reçoit le prix The Bessies, New York Dance and Performance Awards pour la conception visuelle de $Shot (Lacey / Lauro / Parkins / Cornell).
Elle fonde avec l’architecte Laurence Crémel, l’association Squash Cake Bureau où elle crée des aménagements paysagers et du mobilier urbain.
Elle scénographie également des concerts dont Transhumance /Cocorosie/ Nadia Lauro/Gaspard Yurkévitch) et des expositions telle que Sunra: The Cosmo Man, Nottingham Contemporary.
Elle conçoit une série d’ installations/performance “Tu montes”, “As Atletas”, “I hear voices” et “Garden of Time” , des environnements scénarisés développés dans divers lieux (musées, foyers de théâtre, galeries, jardins) en Europe, au Japon et en Corée.
Elle présente “La Clairière” (Fanny de Chaillé/Nadia Lauro), un environnement visuel immersif pour entendre au Centre Pompidou, 4ème édition du Nouveau festival /« Khhhhhhh » Langues imaginaires et inventées et collabore depuis 2014 comme artiste associée au festival Extension Sauvage (Latifa Labissi / Figure Project)
Biography
As a visual artist and set designer, Nadia Lauro has been developing her work for several decades in various contexts (scenic spaces, landscape architectures, museums). She has conceived set designs, environments, and visual installations with strong dramaturgical power, thus generating new ways of seeing and being together.
Nadia Lauro has collaborated with the following international choreographers and performers: Vera Mantero, Benoît Lachambre, Frans Poelstra, Barbara Kraus, Emmanuelle Huynh, Fanny de Chaillé, Alain Buffard, Antonija Livingstone, Latifa Laabissi, Jonathan Capdevielle, Laeticia Dosh, Antonia Baehr, Jule Flierl, Yasmine Hugonnet, Nosfell, Zeena Parkins, Emilie Rousset, Louise Hémon, Kate McIntosh, Marion Siéfert and with Jennifer Lacey with whom she co-authored numerous projects.
Les Presses du Réel published “Jennifer Lacey & Nadia lauro -dispositifs chorégraphiques” by Alexandra Baudelot.
She recieved a New York Dance and Performance Award (The Bessie) for her visual installation in $Shot (Lacey/Lauro/Parkins/Cornell).
In 1998 she founded Squash Cake Bureau with the architect Laurence Cremel to develop landscape design and urban furniture projects.
She also designed concerts (Cocorosie, Gaspard Yurkévitch, Dani Siciliano)
. She has conceived the installations / performances: “Tu montes”, “As Atletas”, “I hear voices”, “Garden of Time”scripted environments in museums, theater houses, and art galleries in Europe, Japan, and Korea.
For the 4th edition of the New Festival at the Centre Pompidou, she has presented “La Clairière” (Fanny de Chaillé / Nadia Lauro), an immersive visual environment designed to hear “Khhhhhhh”, Imaginary and Invented Languages. Since 2014, Nadia Lauro is associate artist to the Extension Sauvage Festival (Latifa Laabissi / Figure Project).
